Friends of Gideons are people who have a heart for seeing people come to Christ and are committed to supporting the members of The Gideons through prayer and financial contributions, personal evangelism and can also attend mass Bible placements
There are no qualifications to become a Friend except having a heart for seeing people come to Christ and a desire to support Gideons and their wives in carrying out the work of The Gideons International. While Friends are not members of The Gideons International, they do pray and give to further the work of Gideons around the world.
Yes. Representatives of churches, Sunday school classes, or Bible studies can join on behalf of the full group. Multiple individuals from the group can join if interested. Each person will receive updates and access to the full website.
Gideons are Christian business and professional men who meet certain membership qualifications. While Friends do not have the qualification requirements of Gideons, they do seek to make a greater influence for Christ and desire to support the work of Gideons around the world.
In addition to praying and financially supporting The Gideons International, Friends can be invited to select events hosted by Gideons in their area. These are great opportunities for you to hear how God is changing lives around the world, which demonstrates the result of prayer and financial partnerships.
By being a valued ministry partner of The Gideons, Friends receive ministry updates, testimonies of lives changed, and giving opportunities. Friends also have access to purchase Testaments and other resources to utilize in their personal witnessing.
When you join as a Friend, you get access to the Friends website. Friends in the United States will also receive a Welcome Kit in the mail that includes a letter, a newsletter of ministry updates, and a Friends Testament to use when witnessing to others. In addition, regular e-mails will be sent with updates on The Gideons International.
Gifts made through the Friends of Gideons website support Gideons and their wives in winning others to the Lord Jesus Christ. Financial contributions equip members with business skills critical to the success of the ministry, instruction in personal witnessing, and the ability to place and distribute God’s Word. Friends’ gifts impact people in some 200 countries, territories, and possessions.
